Showy fringe-like, outstanding fragrant flowers in June make this a beautiful specimen shrub. Dark green foliage in the summer turns to golden-yellow in the fall. Spreading, rather than open habit often wider than high. Very tolerant of air pollution and needs little maintenance. Dark fleshy egg drupes are borne on female plants which attract birds. Prefers full sun to part shade. Height 15-20’ Width 15-20’. Prefers deep, moist fertile soils but is extremely adaptable. Zone 4-9. Native to southern New Jersey to Florida and Texas |
