A Spring favorite for the human eye! Very showy, small purplish-pink pea-like flowers, numerous and appearing before the foliage. Flowers late April to early May, in clusters of 4 to 8, often borne directly on old branches and trunks as well as younger branches. Trees bloom heavily at a young age. Wide, heart-shaped leaves turn yellow in the fall. Prefers full sun to light shade. Size 20-30' Soil prefers moist, well drained soils, adaptive to all soils Zone 4-9 |
